Luscious Layers
Everything at Anita Jaisinghani's newly relocated Indika (516 Westheimer Rd, 713.524.2170) is hip, exotic and sexy. The tall sopari and pistachio dessert is no exception. Tiny, nut cakes are layered with piped rosewater cream (yes, there really is such a thing) and drizzled with raspberry sauce. This beauty, created by pastry chef Alexa Hernandez, is garnished with plump raspberries, crushed pistachios and pink rose petals. Hernandez says, "Think of it as a petite Indian version of an...American strawberry shortcake." Can we just think of it as yummy? -RBS
