New York Times Review
In a cuckoo-clock cottage at the back of a shopping center off Memorial Drive, in the city's western suburbs, Anita Jaisinghani blends the flavors of her Indian childhood with an American sensibility. The results have made Indika a destination of choice. Sunshine-yellow walls complement the warm flavors of dumplinglike potato-corn samosas with intense tamarind-fig chutney, lamb in subtle cashew-cardamom curry and saffron-pistachio ice cream.
12665 Memorial Drive (713-984-1725). $20 a person for lunch, $40 for dinner (this and prices below include a moderate wine).
Closed Sunday and Monday.
